The built-in Flat Shulker Icons resource pack shows shulker boxes directly from the top.

Custom Resource Packs

You can create your own resource pack to customize the way items are rendered on shulker boxes.

The mod adds a CustomModelData ID to items rendered on shulker box lids.

By default the ID is 1702, but that can be changed in the config.
